With every web hosting and reseller hosting package, a free website transfer service is included for a limited time after purchase of the package. In this article we explain what this exactly means and how the transfer service works.
What exactly does it mean?
The free website transfer service means that we transfer your existing websites for free from your previous hosting provider to Versio. We will transfer your website files, any MySQL databases, email addresses and associated emails to your webhosting or reseller hosting package at Versio.
You can use this service free of charge for your websites. The number of days you can use this service is limited and varies per package. You can find the number of days in the package specifications on our webhosting and reseller hosting pages.
Please note that we cannot spend hours transferring your websites when you have bought one of our cheapest packages. If the transfer will take too much time and the package you have bought is too small, we will let you know. You can then choose to upgrade your package or cancel the package and get a refund.
We will check in advance what data we can transfer for you. Sometimes it is not possible to transfer the email addresses and associated emails (depending on which hosting provider you are with now). We will of course inform you of this and offer you alternative methods to move the e-mail addresses and associated emails.
The free website transfer service is only for website files, MySQL databases, e-mail addresses and associated emails. To transfer your domain name to Versio, you need to initiate the transfer via our website. We can do this for you if you provide us with the transfer code. Transferring a domain name to Versio may cost money, depending on which domain name extension you want to transfer. You can find the domain name transfer rates on this page by clicking an extension.
Are you no longer entitled to our free transfer service because the period after purchase of your package has expired? Then we can move your websites to Versio for £40, excluding VAT per hour. We charge at least 1 hour and round up at full hours.

- Which website(s) would you like to transfer to Versio?
- To which webhosting or reseller hosting package at Versio do you want to move the websites?
- Do you also want us to relocate your emails and e-mail addresses?
- What is the login data of your current hosting provider's control panel?
- If you want us to transfer the domain name or domain names for you, please send the transfer code(s).
- If you do not want us to move the domain name, please send us the login details of the control panel where we can change the domain's nameservers. If you want to change the nameservers yourself, please note that we can not tell you the exact time when the website transfer is going to be completed.
